5 out of 5 stars A Genuine Cybill Fan   May 16, 2000

I have to say that I truly loved this book. I laughed out loud many times. I really enjoyed Cybill's frankness and honesty about her past experiences. I have been a fan of Cybill Shepherd since her Moonlighting days. Even back then, there was always something that I admired about her. I couldn't put my finger on it until I read this book. Cybill reveals many secrets about her life over the years, especially her various sexual encounters. She also writes about her many experiences in movies and TV. I am a young woman and could very much relate to her tales of love, lust and betrayal. Cybill states clearly that she always did what pleased her and what pleased her was sex. Only a woman like Cybill could make a comment like that. She is so candid and such a real person. Some of us feel might feel this way but don't have the guts to say so. It's very hard to take an honest look at yourself and then reveal your soul to everyone. You can see how she has grown and realized the mistakes that she has made along the way but more importantly how she has learned from them. I admire her courage and strength for that. So, Kudos to Cybill for such an honest and humerous look at her very interesting life. I am an even bigger fan now than I was before.

5 out of 5 stars Moonlighting with Cybill   April 28, 2000

Yes, Cybill jumps in and out of bed with quite a few men, but the world used to be more carefree back in the seventies and eighties. At least she wasn't a drug addict or alcoholic. Being a blue-eyed blonde myself, I identified with some of the catty things she went through with other women. I was intriqued reading the parts about her shows Moonlighting and Cybill. She had a rough time of it, but hung in there and I am sure she is stronger for it. Christine Baranski, I was surprised to read, was a little stinker! I couldn't put the book down and I am more of a fan of hers now than I was before I read the book. She has raised three gorgeous children and done a heck of a job of it. She has nothing to be ashamed of. All you ladies need to read this! A great story and inspiration for single moms with kids to raise alone.

I read this book in one day. Cybill Shepard may seem pretentious and unapologetic at times, however her consistent courage to fight for her own voice is inspiring. I think this book portrays how Cybill has evolved by learning from both her successes and failures. Thought provoking and insightful.

Cybill Shepherd does not write to get even with the men in her life. She does not trash Bruce Willis or Glenn Gordon Caron. She details what she perceives as the destruction of a once fabulous show: Moonlighting. She also etches a chilling portrait of the behind the scenes turmoil at CYBILL. She also takes herself to task for many of her egotistical behaviors. The book has gotten a lot of attention for the sexual details, but the book is more than that. It's about a woman who is coming to terms with who she is and what she once was. It's a wonderful read.

5 out of 5 stars Tell it like it is!   April 11, 2000

Cybill weighed 150 lbs when she modeled! She was stunning in her hey day; younger models ought to get a clue.

If you want candor about sex, lies and "the beautiful one," this book is the best you'll ever read!

Hats off to Cybill for calling herself a "radical feminist" in this anti-feminist age.
